Cruz and the Fury

Hell hath no improv...

Bryan Philip Cruz

Bryan Philip Cruz started his improv career in 2000 with ComedySportz High School League. While he found his true love for improv he could not ignore his obligatory passion to service humanity and continued to pursue his career in nursing. Upon moving to Austin in 2003, he co-founded GigglePants Improv, the premiere college improv troupe of The University of Texas at Austin, also working in various Emergency Rooms and received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Improviser by day, ER nurse by night, he continued the arts focusing on Narrative Improv at Merlin Works,  the Harold with Coldtowne Theater, Institution Theater, and at the UCB Theater in New York. He was cast in weekly shows with the Puppet Improv Project, and the Institution Musical Harold Troupe. He has performed in New York and Atlanta, GA with Dusk improvised Tween Erotica for a 2-year run. Meanwhile in the nursing world, he was performing CPR and pulling things out of people's butts. When he moved to Houston, he became a main stage performer at Station Theater where he also taught improv. During his time in Houston he became SAG eligible through acting in commercials and credited in international films. Bryan is also a trained actor with a focus on Meisner for 3 years. He is also proficient for emergency butt stuff. Seriously.

shannan scarselletta brown

Shannan Scarselletta (aka The Fury) won her first acting role as a very tall, Irish, and unconvincing Tzeitle in her 7th grade production of Fiddler on the Roof – after which her mother suggested she stick to sports. During a subsequent break from the stage, Shannan graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Philosophy, where she captained the women’s basketball team, wrote humorous essays for the Cornell Daily Sun. She caught the improv bug in 2010 at Washington, DC's DC Improv Theater, and began improvising for sold out audiences with her teams Gin & Ginger and The Punctual Drunks. After relocating to Houston, she became a mainstage improviser, sketch writer, and teacher at both ComedySportz Houston and Beta Theater. Shannan has studied and performed across the U.S., including at The Annoyance Theater in Chicago, the New Movement Theater in New Orleans, and UCB and iO West in LA. She currently performs with an Expedition team at iO West, and teaches improv skills to professionals through her business ImproVision Consulting. Shannan's greatest accomplishment is completing a 3-day silent meditation retreat, where she only broke her silence once to ask for toilet paper.
